What a bummer!

We just found out that our rental agreement doesn't allow us to drive our car in Italy. It will be compounded if we even try. We really wanted to go to Rome and Venice. We could fly there but that would cost over $700 and then to get to Venice we would have to take a ferry. We decided that this gives us more time to travel Switzerland and Austria. If anyone knows the must see places in those countries, please let us know!

Swizerland is amazingly beautiful. If you spend time there you should go to Interlaken, it is a beautiful town tucked into the mountains, and also Trummelbachfalle which is a waterfall cutting into the side of a tall cliff in a beautiful valley, it is really beautiful. You could also visit the Cailler chocolate factory in Broc, which is the best smelling place on earth, and they also have tasting tables after the tour!

What about buying your own used car and then selling it? Or renting a car in Italy or from a different company? That IS a bummer. Have you thought about seeing more of France than just Paris, or going to Belgium?
